Studio Tour - Attractions On Universal Studios Universal City, California

The Studio Tour is sort of the backbone of the entire park. It's sort of the one ride everyone should probably see no matter what. It's also very, very long at over 45 minutes and there are no bathroom breaks along the way. So get everyone to use the bathroom first and maybe bring a snack and drink on the tram (which is allowed).

The tour is all done on a long and slow moving tram style vehicle so it's a family friendly ride. The tour is hosted by comedian Jimmy Fallon who will toss in funny comments here and there but will primary be narrated by a live person on the tram.

It starts out with a look at the various studio buildings and then moves along to various sets that have been used in TV shows and movies. Some productions may even be filming while you're on the tram, though the chances of a real celebrity siting might be rare.

A couple of other scenes include a chaotic subway train crash complete with fire and water effects. Speaking of water, there is a classic flash flood street scene that everyone will get a kick out of.

Some of the other more popular film sets include the plane crash from War of the Worlds, Wisteria Lane from Desperate Housewives, the Bates Motel from Psycho, and even the old school Jaws shark will make an appearance.

Of course, the big stars of the tour are actually the 3D tunnel sections which include King Kong 360 3-D and the Fast & Furious - Supercharged attractions.

There is also a night time version of the Studio Tour, called the Nighttime Studio Tour of all things, which is very similar but also a little bit different.
