One of the best rides in World Showcase, but that isn't saying much.
Maelstrom has closed down permanently and has been replaced by Frozen Ever After.
World Showcase really only has two actual rides which are this one, the Maelstrom, and Mexico's Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros. Because there aren't many rides in this part of Epcot everyone flocks to the Maelstrom because they want to ride something, anything. That leads to crazy long lines on a slow boarding ride. It's so bad you can, and should, actually get a FastPass+ unless the wait is less than 15 minutes.
The ride itself is a boat ride and if you look up at near the entrance you'll see a boat about to plunge over a waterfall which is the ride. You won't get wet on this one except for maybe a tiny splash of water on the rides very small drop.
It's a short ride but fun. Well, that fun is relative since you'll just be happy to be on a ride in this part of Epcot. If this were a ride at the Magic Kingdom or even Epcot's Future World you wouldn't be impressed by it at all, nor would you wait in line for it. Still, it's fun and good for kids and every other country (except Mexico) should be hanging their head in shame for their lack of a ride.
