Main Street U.S.A., it's the beginning into the world of Disney and the first main land you come to when you enter the park. It's all based on and inspired by Walt's hometown in Marceline, Missouri and intended to give that small town vibe.

It's consists mainly of stores and restaurants these days but is also home to the Disneyland Railroad - Main Street Station, The Disneyland Story Presenting Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln, Main Street Vehicles, City Hall, and Disneyland Fire Department. In fact, look above Disneyland Fire Department and you'll see where Walt's apartment is located. That's right, Walt had an apartment up there which is still there today (though it's completely off-limits to the public). A lamp is kept lit in the front window as a tribute to Walt's memory.

The best time for browsing the shops and exploring main street is going to be later in the day or evening. Don't waste your time here first thing in the morning, you'll be much better off using that valuable time to get on rides that will have longer lines later on and come back here after the morning crowd has cleared out.
