The Main Street Vehicles are just that, vehicles. They do nothing more than transport guests from the entrance end of Main Street to the Sleeping Beauty Castle end. These vintage vehicles include a horse-drawn street car, an old-timey automobile, a fire engine, and an old two story bus and your ride will be a one way trip only.
There is no exciting to be found in terms of thrills on these vehicles. They're not even really a great way to get from point A to point B because you'll either lose time waiting for one or you can usually walk faster than they go anyhow.
So what's the point of them? It's nostalgia, nothing more. They were here in 1955 when the park opened so they're here now. In this case, it seems to be nostalgia for nostalgia's sake.
Disney purists will disagree with me here, but I'd like to see them remove and the money spent on newer things. These things just get in the way and create choke points in an already crowded funnel. Oh yea, and horses tend to poop. Anywhere. They. Want.
