Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress was first shown in the 1964-1965 World's Fair in New York and moved to the Magic Kingdom in 1975. This attraction is a show staring various animatronic characters that tell the story of progress in the average American household.

The interesting part is that as each scene in the show is completed, the entire theater rotates around the center stage. Each rotation takes you to the next scene. Sort of a neat feature, and you can imagine that back in the 60's it was revolutionary (pun!). In this day an age of modern technology it feels really date and a little gimmicky. Disney purists are now cursing my name.

To be fair, it's still a good show and one I recommend you see (assuming it's running when you visit). Most kids will probably even enjoy some parts of it, though may get bored towards the end of the 20 minute performance. Adults, especially older adults, are likely to enjoy it the most.

It is a classic and it's one you should see while you still can, but I think we're kidding ourselves if we suggest that it's anything beyond just average these days. Here come those Disney purists with their torches. I'd run but my lumbago is acting up again. If you didn't get that it's because you haven't seen the show, and now I've given you a reason to see it.
