Captain EO is a 3D movie experience that was played in various Disney parks from 1986 to 1996. In 2010 it returned in its original state.
The movies is about 17 minutes long and features very early, and not very good, 3D technology combined with 80's style music from Michael Jackson who is also the show's star actor. George Lucas produced the production and Francis Ford Coppola directed it so it has some pretty major talent behind it.
In addition to the 3D visual effects, there are also some physical effects that make the seats move or shake to add to the experience. Back in the 80's it was a pretty neat thing, though I never personally thought it was all that great.
The problem is that today it just doesn't hold up very well. The 3D is pretty bad and has all of the usual cheap pranks of early 3D and I can't help but wonder why they didn't clean it up and make it a bit more modern somehow. The good news is that it probably won't be wasting space forever as it is a limited time engagement. The bad news is that it's already been around for 5 years.
