I remember wanting to spend time in arcades when we would take Disney trips as a child. I'd beg my parents to do so and they'd usually give me a couple of dollars (hey, back then games were only 25 cents!) and I'd get to go nuts for a short while. Of course, they were always wanting to hurry me and move along and I never understood why. This is an arcade and it's filled with awesome video games!

Of course, now when I go to a Disney park with my kids I have the exact opposite problem. The want to play the games and I want to move along. Hey, I still love video games just as much as I did when I was a kid but I "get it" now. You're in a Disney park, why on earth would you want to waste even a minute in an arcade?

Well, there are some reasons. First off, it's good to have a little down time even if that's just a 20 minute break away from the crowds, lines, and madness of the park. Second, on a hot day the air conditioning alone is worth it while the kids focus on the glow of their monitors.

Beyond that, it's just an arcade and I'd much rather be going on rides. It would be nice if these arcades were a bit more updated, maintained better (seems like things are always broken or out of order), and a bit cheaper. I can't believe I'm old enough to complain about the price of a video game. Yet I am.
