Matt Anderson's Take
The Hilton Los Angeles / Universal City is located across the street from Universal Studios and Universal CityWalk with free tram service to the park and back.

Guest rooms come in various sizes as regular rooms, suites, executive suites, and accessible rooms. Some rooms offer breathtaking views of Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal CityWalk, or the Hollywood hills.

A great hotel that's clean with quiet rooms and some amazing views, especially if you are higher up. The walk to the park just takes a few minutes so skip the shuttle (which often takes longer when you factor in the wait time). They have a pool here too but it was wait too cold out for that.

Stayed here twice now and really liked it both times. This place is always clean which is the biggest reason we like staying here. Prices are a little high but not bad. Rooms are a good size and are quiet. You can't beat the location with a short walk to Universal.

There's a lot going for the Hilton. First off is the location which is directly across the street from the park and CityWalk area. You can take their free shuttle but it's actually easier and faster to just walk via a pedestrian bridge that crosses the street. They could have made access to the bridge much better as it's a bit convoluted but it works. Well, it works as long as you can walk up stairs (as there is no elevator access to the bridge).

Next up are the rooms which feel very new, modern, and clean. They're also quite quiet inside so noise from the neighbors was pretty decent overall. Even with a Hilton Honors membership, don't expect the WiFi to be any good. Because it's horribly slow as usual.

Other than terrible WiFi, my only other real complaints would be the $28 per night self parking fee which is beyond insane and greedy. Between than and taxes, the quote $275-ish per night room rate I had really becomes $350 per night. It should be illegal to quote a rate that doesn't include all of the taxes, fees, and parking rates.

I did say "complaints" so the other is the pool area. The pool was freezing cold and the hot tub was just warm at best. Both are small and boring, a major let down. So much more could have been done with these.

Overall, it's a good option and the high price is proof that they know it's all about location here.

Our room on the 8th floor had amazing views of the Universal Park. The hotel felt a little dated but it was beautiful and clean. The pool was really small though for the size of the hotel.
