Matt Anderson's Take
Disney's Wilderness Lodge is located in the Magic Kingdom Resort area, slotted between Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Contemporary Resort but not actually on the Walt Disney World Monorail system.

The Wilderness Lodge is considered a Deluxe Level resort and comes with all of the bells and whistles you'd expect from a resort / hotel in this category. The resort is themed on America’s Great Northwest and inspired by turn-of-the-century National Park lodges. It feels somewhat similar to Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa at the California based Disneyland Resort.

A neat babbling brook starts in the lobby of the hotel and works its way to the outside where it meanders and eventually dumps into the pool. The pool itself is heated and surrounded by pine trees to give a nice woodsy feel. The pool area includes a small waterslide, hot and cold whirlpool spas, and a kiddie pool. There is also a Hidden Springs Pool, with its own whirlpool spa, by the villas.

Onsite dining options include Artist Point, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Roaring Fork, Trout Pass Pool Bar, Territory Lounge, along with room service options.

Easily our favorite of all Disney hotels because this one just feels right to us. Not cheap so we don't always stay here but our favorite when the budget allows.

This is a beautiful hotel with the feeling of being at a lodge. It's well decorated and really has a cozy feel even though it's a huge place. The rooms were always kept neat and clean by the housekeeping staff. The pool area is a lot of fun and a great way to cool off. There is a marina here as well where you can rent boats and hang out on the lake. They also offer fast transportation to the Magic Kingdom via a boat ferry service. Wonderful place but it does come at a price.

Stayed here twice now and it's been amazing both times. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are very clean. The atmosphere is what I love best. That woodsy feeling. Pool area is great and being able to take a boat to the MK is also a big plus.

This is a great MK area hotel and probably my favorite when it comes to the theming and details. Everything about this place is amazing and the only thing it lacks, for an MK resort area hotel, is direct monorail access.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge is an excellent resort overall. The theming is spot on, the pool area is nice, and the place is generally clean. The rooms are standard of any Disney hotel like this so nothing special there.

The location is good but Disney really missed the boat, or should I say monorail, on this one in the transportation department. Buses take you to most places and a boat is available for the Magic Kingdom but being so close to the monorail loop and not connecting to it is such a flaw in an otherwise excellent resort. That one flaw is what keeps me picking a place like the Polynesian over the Wilderness Lodge on most visits.
