Kids will love this place for sure and it's just neat to see the theming inside which is a tropical rain forest complete with a huge aquarium and plenty of animatronic animals that come to life during occasional thunderstorms that take place.
As for the food, it's not bad but usually forgettable. Of course, compared to many Disney offerings, I would consider it a bit better than average.
It's located at the entrance to Animal Kingdom but does not require park admission to enter. You will need park admission to get back into Animal Kingdom after you eat.
