Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes allows you to hop into a canoe with 19 other guests and paddle your way around the Rivers of America while circling around Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island. It follows the same path as the Mark Twain Riverboat and Sailing Ship Columbia.
Along your expedition you will see things like an old frontier cabin, a Native American village, some wildlife working or hanging out, as well as various Disneyland attractions.
This attraction is only open seasonally and even then only in good weather and during the day. The canoes are not on a track and don't have a motor to power them but if you don't want to paddle your guide can handle the work themselves. If you do want to paddle, and kids likely will, you'll get a quick lesson on how to do it correctly. Kids must wear life jackets, just like what I'm sure the frontier lawyers would have suggest back in the day as well.
For me, this isn't a must see attraction. If it's hot outside you'll be sweating since you're just going to be baking in the sun while you work.
