Splash Mountain is another excellent Disney ride, this time in the form of a log flume style water ride with a great 5 story drop near the end. You'll follow Br'er Rabbit from his home in the briar patch all the way to his laughing place, with lots of greats scenes and songs in between, while Br'er Bear and Br'er Fox try to catch him along the way.
The ride lasts for about 9 minutes and there is a good chance you'll get wet. First, the seats are likely to be wet from previous rides so expect a damp to wet butt just from that. Second, there are several small dips and one large drop that make a big splash. As usual, those upfront tend to get the wettest but you can get a good soaking anywhere in the log. Tough it out, no ponchos!
This one is full of catchy songs that are bound to stick in your head for days after the ride. In fact, if you know the music just reading the song titles like “How Do You Do?” (I'm very fine, thank you) is enough to get them to stick. And who could forget “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah”?
The ride is based on Disney's 1946 Song of the South but even if you're not familiar with that, and I bet most aren't, you'll still get the story and love this ride. Some interesting things to note include the fact that the logs here are (mostly) single wide so the people site one in front of the other. In Florida's Disney World, the logs are double wide (two per row).
