Great views and a lovely breeze make this one surprisingly fun, as long as there isn't a long wait.

I used to avoid the Astro Orbitor since it looked pretty boring and always had a slow moving line. Then one day the line was short so I gave it a whirl and was pleasantly surprised at the experience. Maybe it was just because my expectations were low, after all it's hardly different from other boring and slow spinning rides (I'm looking at your Dumbo).

But this one is a little bit different. It does seem to spin a bit faster than similar rides so you not only get a great wind-in-your-face experience but also some great park views. You get a control stick to change the height of the vehicle as it goes around so kids are sure to enjoy that feature.

The ride cars can hold 2 adults or 2 adults and 1 kid but are fairly tiny. It also doesn't hold very many people and doesn't last for very long. Factor in how long it takes to load and unload the ride vehicles and you have unusually long waits for what you get.

So, overall it's average at best. If the line is long I'd skip it entirely, your vacation won't be ruined if you do.
