Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage is an underwater submarine ride where you climb into a submarine ride vehicle, with 39 of your closest friends, that actually goes (almost, but not quite) underwater. Along the way you'll see all sorts of underwater life as well as familiar faces from Disney·Pixar's Finding Nemo movie.
The yellow subs belong to the Nautical Exploration and Marine Observation Institute (N.E.M.O. get it?) and you'll sit right in front of a porthole which will be your view to this underwater world. You'll glide past ruins of an ancient civilization, see exotic marine life, see a newly erupting undersea volcano, and then run into a little turbulence. It's a fun experience overall, especially for kids.
Those who have fears of claustrophobia might want to sit this one out or go for the alternate show on land which is basically a video of what you'd see on the ride. Those who can't walk down stairs can also view the ride this way.
This ride used to be called Submarine Voyage and originally opened in 1958. Back then they actually had live people in mermaid costumes in the water! That ride was shut down in 1998 and opened again in 2007 with its current Nemo theme.
