Indiana Jones Adventure - Attractions On Disneyland Park Anaheim, California

Indiana Jones Adventure is a great overall ride and one I highly recommend. It's not a roller coaster and not an omnimover but something in between. Imagine an electric powered Jeep that follows a certain path, holds 12 people, without being on a track, that can speed up and slow down as well as move and rotate the seating area independently from the vehicles chassis.

This unique vehicle can move and react to the scenes and elements around it. If it needs to take a sharp turn to avoid an obstacle it can lean and accelerator much like you would do if you were running or being chased. It's the closest thing to a ride vehicle with emotions as you can get.

The story here is classic Indiana Jones stuff. You'll enter an ancient temple on the search for archaeological treasure. Danger is everywhere but that never stops Mr. Jones. Your ride vehicle will cruise passed deadly traps, reacting to each one, and zip you through while avoiding the wrath of Mara.

Along the way you'll encounter a collapsing bridge, erupting lava, mummies, and, yes, snakes. Why did it have to be snakes?

While there are no sudden drops here and the vehicle doesn't go all that fast, the ride is really bumpy, I mean really bumpy. Cargo nets are provided for your belongings but you'll want to be free of back and neck issues for sure. The ride is also very loud.

If you've ever experienced Dinosaur (originally called Countdown to Extinction) at Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World then you have a good idea of what you're in for here (it's the same ride vehicle as well). It's Dinosaur with an Indy theme.
