Subways is a popular go-to place when you want to grab a quick sandwich for a cheap price. It's probably healthier than some of the other fast foods out there we're still talking about processed meats and cheeses.
The origins of Subway date back to 1965 when Fred DeLuca started “Pete’s Super Submarines” in Bridgeport, Connecticut. In 1966, they began a franchising operation, and in 1968 the name was changed to Subway. In 1978, the first Subway was opened on the West Coast in Fresno, California. Today, there are more than 47,000 franchised Subways in 111 countries.
