Located next to farmland, Sunset State Beach / Palm Beach section is a nice family getaway from the hustle of Santa Cruz. The beach is below a bluff and has barbecues, covered picnic areas, restrooms and showers. You can bring fido if you keep him on a leash. There is adequate paid parking, but no street parking. The park is open from sunrise to a half hour before sunset.
