The Olomana Trail, or The Three Peaks as it's often called, is a difficult, 2 mile long (about 4 miles round trip) out and back style hiking trail on Oahu's east side in the town of Kailua.

Getting here isn't difficult, see our directions page for pinpoint to the trailhead on Loop Road. Parking can be tricky and can change at any time.

As you get closer to the trailhead you'll see several "no parking" signs and this is an area you do not want to park. Ignore the signs and you will almost certainly get a ticket or get towed. You may need to park back on Maunawili Road.

Find a legal spot and make sure you're car is completely off the road or expect a ticket. This can add another mile (each way) to the hike, though it will be along a paved road.

The hike will start off of Loop Road (see our map pinpoint) on your left, near the entrance of Royal Hawaiian Golf Course. The guard for the golf course may or may not be able to assist you if you have questions (we've heard mixed reviews on that subject).

This is considered to be a difficult hike and someone actually fell and died here as recently as 2015. This isn't a hike for the amateur hiker. This also isn't a hike you'll want to do if it's going to rain or has recently rained as it will be very muddy and slippery and can be dangerous. On that note, be sure to read up on Hiking Safety & Essentials and don't forget to plack plenty of water for this hike.
