When you think of Sloppy Joes you usually think of the stuff that comes from a can that gets added to ground beef. Well this simple recipe is a thousand time better than the canned stuff! Thanks Aunt Fran!
Ingredients:
1 lbs ground beef
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp pepper
¾ tsp salt
½ green pepper minced
½ white onion minced
1 – 2 tbsp sweet pickle relish
½ c Open Pit BBQ sauce Regular flavor or whatever is your favorite brand
¼ c Ketchup
¼ c Water
Step 1
Brown beef well and soak up as much grease as possible with paper towels then dump into strainer to remove grease, rinse under hot water.
Step 2
Return to pan, over medium heat add garlic powder, salt, pepper, green pepper and onion.
Step 3
Cook for about 5 minutes stirring to cook veggies a little.
Step 4
Add relish, BBQ sauce, Ketchup and water, mix together and cook over medium heat for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve on Hamburger buns. Dinner is done son!
