Given the my husband's family is Italian, I have been passed down many Italian recipes.
Another family favorite! Plus this is a great meal if you short on time. You can brown the meat the night before and add everything to the crock pot in the morning, then leave it to cook all day.
3 - 4 lbs Eye of round roast
½ tsp Salt
¼ tsp Pepper
½ tsp Rosemary
1 Bay Leaf
½ tsp Basil
1 tsp Oregano
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Celery Salt
3 tbsp Beef bouillon
3 cups Water
Brown meat on all sides.
Add all ingredients to crock pot and cook on slow for 8 hours.
Remove meat and cover with foil. Strain broth and add to pan, boil for a few minutes to reduce and thicken just slightly.
Cut meat and add back to broth. Serve on crusty bread or rolls with Giardiniera. We add broth to our bread or you can dip the sandwich in the broth. You may need to adjust the amounts of the spices. I just eyeball it, so this is my best guess.
