Best attraction ever? Most would disagree but I love the serenity of a ride on the WEDWay.

It has the oddly long name of Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover but Disney purists know by it's original name of WEDWay PeopleMover, or simply the WEDWay) which opened in 1975.

You'll head up a stairless escalator (conveyor belt) on foot and then board one of the moving trams and take a 10 minute ride through Tomorrowland. You'll even get to go behind the scenes of Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and Space Mountain as well as see an early model mock-up of Prototype City which was the original concept for Epcot.

The ride is incredibly peaceful and actually my most favorite Disney attraction ever. Seriously. Can't explain why, just is. I could ride it for hours. Considering the line is usually non-existent, you almost could! It's also a great way to let your feet rest and cool off.

The concept is similar to a PeopleMover in California's Disneyland, which no longer exists, but the Florida version was quite revolutionary due to the technology inside. Inside of using spinning tires, like the Disneyland version, it uses linear induction motors. It's essentially a series of electromagnets that pull/push the ride vehicles along the track without any moving parts (wheels on the vehicles not included) to make it all happen.

It's a genius, yet simple, technology that provides a quite and environmentally friendly way to travel. If only every morning commute was as peaceful as this maybe we really all could get along.
