Disney's Typhoon Lagoon is a water theme park that is located within the Walt Disney World Resort. The park opened in 1989 and is home to one of the world's largest outdoor wave pools.

As with all things Disney, there is a backstory to how the park was created. Legend says that a typhoon slammed this area and wreaked havoc upon what was once a perfect tropical paradise. The former beach and fishing town was turned upside down by the freak storm and is now an amazing place to play in the water. The park icon, the Miss Tilly shrimping boat, has been impaled high up on Mount Mayday which erupts with a 50 foot geyser of water every half hour.

The park is filled with water based rides that are designed to get you wet and cool you off. There is a little something here for everyone.
